5 Things I Do To Stay Healthy During COVID-19 Season

Everyone is talking about preventing COVID-19. And I agree; we should try to prevent it by washing our hands, face, and bodies as thoroughly as possible, wear a mask and gloves, and practice social distancing. But, what if we do get COVID-19? Then, what?

Well, I don't know about you, but everyday I do something to boost my immune system. I believe that one of the best chances of surviving COVID-19 is by having a healthy immune system. So, this is what I do:

1. I take my multivitamin daily. I know that my eating is not perfect; I still manage to eat my share of junk food and not nearly enough vegetables. My multivitamin is a good supplement that has a good combination of vitamins and minerals that will help to boost my immune system.

2. I eat fruits and nuts. Even if i don't eat enough vegetables, at least I get my fruit in. Either I eat it raw or in a smoothie. Fruit has plenty of antioxidants and nutrients that the immune system needs to be strong.

3. My goal is to get 7 hours of sleep each night. When you sleep, your immune system releases proteins that help to fight infection and inflammation. So, sleep deprivation will limit my bodies ability to fight infections and diseases, including COVID-19.

4. I do things to help manage my stress. Chronic stress wreaks havoc on your immune system and digestive system and increases the risk of heart attack and stroke and speeds up the aging process. No, thank you! In order to manage my stress, I take mindful walks, soaks, meditate, pray, listen to music, veg out on movies, enjoy quiet time with a cup of herbal tea, journal, burn candles and/or incense, clean my house, etc.

5. I try to drink at least 3 bottles of water per day. Drinking water flushes toxins from your system and may help prevent toxins from building up, which would negatively effect your immune system. I don't like water, but I like the coronavirus even less! So drink up it is!

These are 5 of the many simple things I do to boost my immune system. I hope not to get COVID-19, but if I do, I plan to have my immune system as strong as possible.

What about YOU?
